Job Overview

Our client, an electrical services and solar maintenance start-up company, is looking to hire a Solar Electrician/Installer to support their growing volume of solar installations. This role will focus on the electrical aspects of solar installations with an emphasis on completing attic runs. This Solar Installer role can be either a part-time or a full-time position with our client.

Job Responsibilities

• Travelling to customer locations across the greater Chicago area
• Completing solar installation projects including (but not limited to): running conduit, the installation and wiring of electrical systems for solar panel arrays, inverters, batteries, and associated components, and the integration of solar power systems with the customer's existing electrical infrastructure
• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues as needed, such as electrical faults in solar power systems, wiring, panels, inverters, and/or batteries.
• Conducting thorough electrical inspections of solar installations to ensure safety standards are met and adhered tom and to ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
• Adhering to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of electrical tools and materials.
• Assisting with site assessments to evaluate the electrical needs and layout for solar installations
• Communicating clearly and professionally with customers to explain the electrical aspects of solar installations and address any questions or concerns.
• Collaborating with other team members, including solar installers and project managers, to ensure efficient and successful solar system installations and maintenance.

Successful Candidates Must Have:

• At least 4 years of solar experience
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or previous electrical experience is highly preferred
• A valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in English (proficiency also in Spanish is a plus)
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• A strong commitment to safety and maintaining high standards.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and local electrical codes.
• The ability to work in various weather conditions.
• The ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
• The ability to commute to job sites.

• This Solar Electrician/Installer role has a wage of $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
