Compensation: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour, plus overtime (5 to 15 hours per week)
Job Overview
Our client, a rapidly-growing, regional renewable energy provider that specializes in residential and commercial solar projects, is looking to bring on a Master Electrician in the Rochester area. This hire will be a key member of their field operations division and will serve as not only a technical expert but a true team player, ready to mentor a growing crew and ensure each project meets the highest standards of safety and excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Field Leadership & Oversight: Acting as the primary technical authority for projects while also providing hands-on support and completing various electrical construction tasks, especially with more complex projects.
- Solar Projects: Installing solar systems in accordance with codes and standards, verifying system functionality and conformity to performance expectations, and diagnosing malfunctions in systems, apparatus, and components using various testing equipment
- Permitting & Compliance: Facilitating the permitting process through the use of the candidate's electrical license (note: all insurance and liability are fully covered under the company’s corporate policy)
- Project Verification: Reviewing and verifying technical plan sets prior to project execution and conduct quality control inspections on project sites
- Team Mentorship: Overseeing journeymen and apprentice electricians and providing hands-on training to refine processed and ensure quality
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- A valid Master Electrician License for the City of Rochester
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience with solar installations; familiarity with SolarEdge and/or Generac products is a plus.
- Experience installing and repairing electrical equipment and fixtures
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- A humble, team-first approach; someone who seeks to mentor and understands that everyone has different learning styles
- The ability to teach new methods to an established team in a way that is constructive, patient, and professional.
Compensation & Benefits
