Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 Salary + Uncapped Commissions; On-Target Earnings of $200,000+

Job Overview

Our client, a high-growth, regional renewable energy company that focuses on commercial, multi-family, and residential solar projects as well as battery energy storage and agrovoltaic energy solutions, is looking to bring on a Business Development Manager. This hire will be a pivotal addition to their sales team, combining solar development and business development to continue driving the growth of the company.  This role is a full-time position with our client.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, and project managers
  • Find and develop new commercial solar opportunities through bids, network connections, industry outreach, and networking events
  • Accurately design systems, build financial models, and support project estimation throughout the project development processes
  • Respond to RFPs and support the creation of robust proposals
  • Assist in the project design and estimation process using various solar design tools in coordination with operations
  • Support marketing efforts and increase brand visibility

Successful Candidates Must Have:

  • At least 3 years of sales and development experience focused on commercial solar projects - experience with multi-family new construction projects is a plus
  • An understanding of RFP and commercial solar bidding processes
  • Knowledge of commercial electrical systems, interconnection processes, and solar financing options and ownership models
  • Proficiency in Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, Microsoft Excel, and CRM tools
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • A bachelor’s degree in business or construction is a plus


Compensation & Benefits

  • This Business Development Manager role has an hourly compensation of: $80,000 to $100,000 Salary + Uncapped Commissions; On-Target Earnings of $200,000+
